Siloti taught at the Moscow Conservatory, where his students included Alexander Goldenweiser, Leonid Maximov, and his first cousin Sergei Rachmaninoff. As a conductor, he gave the world premiere of Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the composer as soloist in 1901.
