Pair of CDV portrait photographs of the great violinist, one by Fritz Luckhardt of Vienna and the other by Reutlinger of Paris. Some inscriptions on the reverse of the photographs in other hands, one dated 1873-1874. Scattered speckling to the albumen, scattered stains, mostly to the Reutlinger photograph, else fine.  2.5 x 4 inches (6.5 x 10.5 cm). 
The great Hungarian violinist and composer was probably second only to Paganini among 19th-century virtuosi, and was the dedicatee of the Brahms Concerto and many other works.
