Mendessohn, Felix Robert. (1896-1951). Autograph Quotation and Signed Program Photograph. A fine autograph quotation in German, "Die Musik des Herzens ist der Ton...," signed in Amsterdam, 1934. Together with a small program, also signed. The fine German cellist was a direct descendant from the famous composer and taught first at the Stern Conservatory before emigrating the US in 1936 and assuming a position in the Baltimore Symphony. He died onstage in Cadoa Hall, Baltimore, while playing Dohnanyi's "Konzertstuck."
