Duruflé, Maurice. (1902 - 1986). Signed Photograph.

Signed 8 x 10 inch photograph of the French composer, organist, and teacher, a formal portrait in front of an organ, together with Marie-Madeleine Duruflé (née Chevalier), his assistant at St-Étienne-du-Mont who he married in 1953 and with whom he formed a famous and popular organ duo. With a lengthy signed inscription in the hand of Marie-Madeleine ("A nos tres chers amies Charles Mosley et Jun Anderson / souvenir affectuex d'une charmante soirée passée chez eux, with great gratefulness!") and then signed "M. Duruflé." With unfortunate light ink adhesion to the glossy surface, a heavy scratch/blemish to the center of the image, scattered surface and a few heavier creases, small cuts and nicks to the right edge. Nevertheless, these are VERY uncommon signatures in any format!
