[Dance] Castle, Irene. (1893-1969). Signed Letter about Her Dancing Career. Fascinating letter from the dancer who, along with Vernon Castle, significantly influenced dance style of the times. April 29, 1932. 2pp, signed "Irene C. Mc Laughlin." An important letter in which Castle discusses in some detail her dancing career with Vernon and some of the particular dances that were then popular. Together with a retained copy of the letter of inquiry from Mark Sullivan. Two sheets of personal stationery with printed letterhead (10.5" x 7.25" ). In fine condition, with usual folds ans paper clip stains, as well as a few pencil notations on the upper right side of the first page of the stationery written by Mark Sullivan for inclusion in his files and in his book "Our Times".

The letter is addressed to the American journalist and historian Mark Sullivan (1874-1952) who between 1926 and 1935 published a six volume book by the title "Our Times" which chronicled the period of U. S. history from the late 1800's to early 1900's.
