A heartfelt and moving ALS from the notorious demimondaine, the celebrated beautiful dancer who left the world of ballet for the Folies Bergere, was mistress to King Léopold II and was painted and celebrated by Lautrec, Muller and Klimt. 1 1/2 pp. 8vo. To the music critic Victorin de Joncières (1839-1903), dated "Mercredi 5 Juillet, 1899," on black-bordered mourning stationery. "...I have an immense sadness having lost my dear mother who I so loved; it is the most cruel bad fortune which could have befallen me..."
