Early autograph letter from the Austrian soprano, a famous Leonore in Fidelio and the first Viennese Marschallin in Der Rosenkavalier. Dated Vienna, July 8, 1898. Weidt signs as "Louise Weidt" and writes: "Please excuse me for not being able to call on you this morning, as I had just left. I will take the liberty, if it is agreeable, to come tomorrow, Friday, morning at 12." 1 p. on a bifolium. Folding creases; otherwise in very fine condition. 4.5 x 7 inches (11.3 x 17.5 cm).
