Schneiderhan, Wolfgang. (1915-2002). Mozart Violin Concerto in A Cadenza - Autograph Musical Quotation. Autograph musical quotation in the hand of the great Austrian violinist. He has penned three measures from his Cadenza for Mozart's Violin Concerto in A, KV 219, signed and inscribed below, and dated Vienna, March 22, 1996. He has also signed and dated on the verso. On a small piece of manuscript paper, in slightly shaky writing from the end of Schneiderhan's life, but in fine condition. 8.25 x 2.75 inches (20.8 x 6.9 cm).
Schneiderhan was the first Concertmaster of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra (1933-37) and later led the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, all while maintaining an active solo and chamber career. He performed as soloist worldwide, and after Georg Kulenkampff's death in 1948, he replaced him in the famous piano trio with Edwin Fischer and Enrico Mainardi. Later he founded the Lucerne Festival Strings and was married to the soprano, Irmgard Seefried.
