Parts for Flauto Primo - Quarto (complete).  Engraved throughout, [PN] 3397 - 3399. First quartet lacking the title page, the second and third quartet with title only in part for Flauto Primo (as issued). Toned, scattered foxing, else fine. Rare, only two complete sets listed by Worldcat, a few other institutions holding sets for the first and third quartets only. A rare set from the German flautist and composer, a contemporary of Boehm, Furstenau and Reicha, who performed in the theater orchestra of Stettin and as a royal chamber musician in Berlin.

Soussmann, Heinrich. (1796 – 1848). Quartett fur vier Floten : 5tes Werk. Berlin:  [ca. 1820]. Parts for Flauto I- IV (complete).  Engraved throughout, [PN] 1096.  With title only in part for Flauto I (as issued). Toned, scattered foxing, else fine. Rare, only three complete sets listed by Worldcat. A rare set from the German flautist, violinist and composer, who was flautist at the Chapel Royal in Berlin from 1816 before settling in St. Petersburg in 1836, where he was first flute at the Imperial Theatre and later became Musical Director there. He is also remembered for his flute method, the Grosse praktische Flötenschule.

Schneider, Georg Abraham. (1770-1839). Trois Quatuors pour quatre Flutes.[I – III]. Hambourg, Böhme [ca. 1805]. Parts for Flauto I - IV (complete).  Engraved throughout, no PN. All parts with title pages. Scattered foxing, else fine. Rare, only three complete sets listed by Worldcat.  Uncommon set from the German horn player, composer, conductor and concert promoter who played with the royal orchestra in Berlin and served as the music director of the Königliche Schauspiele and as Royal Prussian Kapellmeister. His works were "remarkable for the virtuosity of his instrumental writing, which proves the extent of his own mastery of many instruments. He was apparently the first to compose a work including the newly invented valve horn, in his Concertino for three hunting horns and valve horn (1818). His instrumental music, theatre and ballet music found more recognition during his lifetime than his five Singspiele[.]" (William J. Rogan, New Grove.)
