Geyer, Stefi. (1888-1956). Signed Photograph. Signed photograph of the Hungarian violinist, a student of Hubay and one of the most celebrated prodigies on the instrument. Shown as a young woman, seated in an armchair, Geyer has signed on the mount below the photograph. Light wrinkling and edge wear to the mount, but otherwise in fine condition. Photograph 3.25 x 4.5 inches (8.3 x 11.2 cm), mounted to 6.25 x 9 inches (16 x 22.8 cm).

Béla Bartók and Othmar Schoeck, who were both in love with Geyer, both wrote violin concertos for her. Bartók's first violin concerto was only published after he and Geyer had both died. Willy Burkhard dedicated his 1943 violin concerto jointly to Geyer and Paul Sacher.
