Signed book from the great Indian dancer, a pioneer in acquainting Western audiences with traditional Indian dance. Gopal has inscribed and signed on the first free end paper to noted dance photographer John Lindquist: "To John Lindquist, a genius of the camera who catches the rhythm of the dance only because he 'dances' in rhythm with his camera! Sincerely, Ram Gopal, 1954." Above this inscription, the book has been inscribed to Lindquist in another hand, signed J. R. and dated London, September 14, 1951.
