Brâncusi, Constantin. (1876–1957). Autograph Signature.
Rare autograph signature from the pioneering Romanian sculptor, who has inscribed to the noted American autograph collector Ashley T. Cole and dated New York, 23 November 1926. 1 p. 8vo. Some mounting remnants to the verso, else fine. Sold together with a vintage postcard depicting one of his sculptures.

The Romanian sculptor, painter and photographer Constantin Brâncusi made his career in France. Considered a pioneer of modernism and the patriarch of modern sculpture, Brâncusi was one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th-century. His art emphasizes clean geometrical lines that balance forms inherent in his materials with the symbolic allusions of representational art. Brâncuși sought inspiration in non-European cultures as a source of primitive exoticism, but other influences emerge in his work from Romanian folk art.
