Joachim, Joseph. (1831–1907) [Klein, Herman. (1856–1934)]. Visiting Card with Autograph Inscription.
An original visiting card from the great Hungarian violinist and Brahms collaborator, with an autograph inscription on the verso granting admission to one of his concerts for the English music critic Herman Klein. Joachim has addressed the visiting card on the recto in pencil to Herr Moser, likely his student and early biographer, the violinist Andreas Moser (1859–1925). Continuing in pencil on the verso, he has written (translated from the German): "Mr. Klein, a correspondent for one of the [...] London newspapers, must be admitted, because he has traveled [...] from London...". Heavy fold, almost torn, at the edge, with two archival tape repairs; somewhat smudged; overall very good. 3.75 x 2 inches (9.2 x 5.2 cm).
