Signed photograph of the Russian virtuoso violinist, inscribed to fellow Auer student Jaroslav Siskovsky. He is shown as a young man and has penned in white ink: "To my dear Mr. Jaroslav Siskovsky / in friendship from Toscha Seidel / N.Y. 29-5-21." A few surface creases, edge wear and overall toning; otherwise very good. 6 x 9.25 inches (15.2 x 23.4 cm).

A student of Leopold Auer, Toscha Seidel made his career in Hollywood and later gave violin lessons to Albert Einstein.

The Czech-American violinist Jaroslav Siskovsky (1888–1979) also studied with Auer in St. Petersburg and went on to be a founding member of the New York String Quartet, with Ottokar Čadek, Bedrich Váška and Ludvik Schwab.
