Autograph note from the American artist to the writer Ken Silverman, describing her installation Six Continents and enclosing a postcard advertising the show with a small plastic bag of salt from Antarctica. June 23, 2005. Bradshaw writes: "...'Six Continents' consists of 6 mounds of differently colored salt from each of the 6 continents. When subjected to a slow drip of water they recrystallize in different ways...". Letter 3 x 5 inches, postcard 6 x 4.5 inches, together with original envelope. In very fine condition.

Dove Bradshaw is an American artist. She has created chemical paintings that change with the atmosphere, erosion sculptures of salt, stone sculptures that weather, and, worked with crystals that receive radio transmissions from weather stations, local and short wave, along with radio telescope signals from Jupiter.

Kenneth Eugene Silverman was an American biographer and educator. He won a Pulitzer Prize and a Bancroft Prize for his 1984 biography of Cotton Mather, The Life and Times of Cotton Mather. Silverman, who specialized In Colonial American literature, was a professor of English at New York University until his retirement in 2001.
