Louisa (Louise, or Luigia) Taglioni was the daughter of Salvatore Taglioni and granddaughter of the patriarch of the legendary family of dancers, Carlo Taglioni. Her older cousin Marie, daughter of Salvatore's brother Filippo, gained the most fame and became a central figure in the history of European dance.
