[Wagner, Richard. (1813–1883)] Richter, Hans. (1843–1916). Die Walküre - Autograph Musical Quotation. Autograph musical quotation from the legendary Austrian-Hungarian conductor who conducted the very first Bayreuth Festival, and in 1877 shared the conductorship of the Wagner festival in London with the composer. Richter has written a motif of three notes from Die Walküre (corresponding to the words "Schwert verhiess" in Siegmund's Act I monologue), dated London, July 1893, and elegantly signed at the right. In black pencil on a slip of pink paper, 7 x 2.75 inches (17.5 x 6.8 cm). Very fine. Together with a separate leaf in another hand, identifying the quotation.
