Attractive hand-colored lithograph engraving of a dancing master with a classroom of young girls. Titled "Caricatures Parisiennes no. 1" and captioned at the foot: "De la grâce, Mademoiselle, que diable, faites valoir ce que la nature vous a donné." ("Of grace, mademoiselle, for heaven's sake, use what nature has given you.") Engraved by Bernard et Frey and published by Hautecoeur Martinet, rue du Coq St. Honoré, ca. 1800-1805.  Sight size 9.5 x 8.25, nicely matted in a window mat to 14 x 12.5 inches (35.5 x 31.5 cm).
