From the collection of Phillip Young, who developed close personal friendships as as teenager with Count Basie, Rex Stewart, and Red Allen, having approached them following performances. Stewart eventually secured him a press pass, allowing Young to attend an incredible number of jazz performances by some of the greatest artists of the time. He corresponded with Stewart while stationed abroad during WWII and maintained the friendship through his life.
