Churchill, Winston. (1874–1965). Autograph Signature. Attractive large fountain pen signature, "Winston S. Churchill,” on an off-white sheet, matted and framed with a reproductio Karsh portrait of Churchill and a hand-calligraphed quotation reading "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat." In fine condition, with a few light creases, unexamined out of the Charles Hamilton Autographs mat presentation and frame, but signature sheet easily removed from frame. A bit of evident staining to the mat and wear to the frame. The signature sheet measuring 2.2 x 5.5 inches, overall 10.25 x 21 inches.

A good example from the British politician known chiefly for his leadership of the United Kingdom during World War II. He served as Prime Minister from 1940 to 1945 and again from 1951 to 1955. A noted statesman and orator, Churchill was also an officer in the British Army, an historian, writer and artist. To date, he is the only British Prime Minister to have received the Nobel Prize in Literature, and the first person to be recognised as an Honorary Citizen of the United States.
