Signed photograph of the Hungarian pianist at his instrument. Sándor has inscribed "To Mr. Steve Juscik– / with every good wish / Cordially– / György Sándor / January 8, 1981." In very fine condition. 7 x 5 inches (17.8 x 12.7 cm.).
Born in Budapest, Sándor studied under Béla Bartók and Zoltán Kodály at the Liszt Academy. His relationship with Bartók would continue for the rest of the composer's life; Sándor premiered two of Bartók's works, including the Piano Concerto No. 3, and was one of only ten people who attended the influential Hungarian composer's funeral.
