[Verdi, Giuseppe. (1813–1901)] Homer, Gadski, Scotti, Alvarez, Reszke, Mancinelli. Aida Score, Signed by Metropolitan Opera Golden Age Stars. New York: G. Schirmer. 1897. A nice copy of Aida in gilt-stamped burgundy cloth. Boldly signed on the first free endpage by Metropolitan Opera conductor/composer, Luigi Mancinelli (1848-1921) and by five of the great Golden Age stars of the Met: Louise Homer, American contralto (1871-1947); Johanna Gadski, soprano (1872-1932); Albert Alvarez, French tenor (1861-1933); Antonio Scotti, Italian baritone (1866-1936); Edouard de Reszke, Polish bass (1853-1917).

During the 1900 - 1903 Metropolitan Opera seasons, Luigi Mancinelli conducted all of these great singers in numerous performances of Aida. Though we found no record of all of them appearing together in this opera under Mancinelli (at most, four out of five), Alvarez typically sang Radames, Scotti sang Amonasro, Homer (who debuted in the role on 11/14/1900) sang Amneris, Edouard de Reszke sang Ramfis, and Gadski sang Aida.
