Uncommon early signed Lotte Meitner-Graf of London photograph of the important pianist, who has inscribed "To Paul / Byron Janis" in black ink.  In very fine condition.  7.5 x 9.75 inches (19 x 24.8 cm.).

Janis was Vladimir Horowitz's first pupil, and has received numerous honors over the course of his career, including being named a Commander of the French Légion d'Honneur for Arts and Letters.

From the collection of Paul McMahon, a critic, photographer and artist who worked for more than 13 years touring with Marlene Dietrich as the icon’s stage manager, announcer, dresser, secretary and escort, and later spent 25 years as an arts and entertainment reviewer and photographer with Gay Community News, Esplanade, Tommy’s Connection, The Mirror, Bay Windows and other publications.
