A very rare copy of this weekly journal, issued in the week of the tragic death of the great violinist and her brother, pianist Jean-Paul Neveu. The brother-sister duo gave their final performance on October 20, 1949 and the following week, on October 27, their Air France flight crashed en route to another series of concerts. All 48 passengers on board, including the famous French boxing champion Marcel Cerdan (the great love of Edith Piaf), died when the plane flew into a mountain after two failed attempts to make a landing at the Sao Miguel airport in the Azores. The present issue features Ginette Neveu in a large photograph on the cover as well as a short description of the accident and two additional images, including one of Ginette, Jean-Paul, and Marcel Cerdan taken just before the flight, in which Cerdan is holding Neveu's famous Strad.
