Striking Louis Mélançon of New York photograph of the Italian tenor, one of the greatest of the 20th century, in costume as Radames for a Metropolitan Opera production of Verdi's Aida. Corelli has inscribed "A Paul / per ricordo / Franco Corelli / 1967" in black ink to the right side of the image. A press note to veso reads "Franco Corelli as Radames in Verdi's Aida to be given by the Metropolitan Opera on Friday evening, April 23rd during its Spring engagement in Boston's new Memorial Auditorium." Photographer's stamp and typed Metropolitan Opera Press Department caption to verso. Overall in very fine condition. 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4 cm.).
