Signed portrait postcard of the young American violinist.  Letter in German (short Easter greeting) to the Düsseldorf impresario and concert manager Constans Heinersdorff (1874–1936), Düsseldorf, to verso, dated Berlin, Easter 1913.  3.5 x 5.5 inches (13.8 x 8.8 cm).  Tear to left edge, else in very good condition.  

Brown, born in Chicago, was a prodigy who studied in Budapest with Jenö Hubay and in St. Petersburg with Leopold Auer.  He gave his debut in Berlin in 1910 and stayed in Europe until 1916.  From the 1930s he was involved with radio stations in the New York area.  In his final decades he taught at Butler University in Indianapolis.
