Frayed to edges and some creases but in very good condition overall.

Sergius (born Sergey) Kagen was from St. Petersburg, Russia, where he briefly studied at the conservatory. He emigrated with his parents in 1920, first to Berlin, where he studied at the Hochschule für Musik, and then to the United States in 1925. From 1930 to 1934 he was enrolled at Juilliard, where he later became a voice teacher. He did not take up composition seriously until about 1950. The present song was one of his first published compositions.
