The subtitle translates as "Three chapters of Judaism in Music as a key to music history of the nineteenth century." The book, a pamphlet in scholarly disguise, dissects the careers of the three most influential German-Jewish musicians of the that century—Felix Mendelssohn Bertholdy, Giacomo Meyerbeer, and Gustav Mahler—and their historical influence and legacy from an orthodox Nazi point of view. Blessinger was a musicologist who taught at the Akademie der Tonkunst in Munich and chaired his school's section of the NS-Dozentenbund (Nazi Association of College Teachers) from 1936. He retired in 1951 and led an undisturbed life after.

The Adolf-Hitler-Schule Köln–Aachen, also known as Adolf-Hitler-Schule Waldbröl by its actual location, was a monstrous project of a Nazi elite school that was never completed.
