A rare signed and inscribed rehearsal copy from an unproduced film project for Warner Bros. Porter began working on the score for the planned Warner Brothers film Mississippi Belle in 1943, but his dealings with producer Arthur Schwartz were difficult from the beginning of the project. Porter did not take kindly to Schwartz's many suggestions for changes to his songs, and eventually complained to the studio head. Schwartz was forced to back down, but after this conflict the project was shelved and the film was never made.
