Schnabel, Artur. (1882–1951). Autograph Signature.

Signature of the Austrian-born pianist and composer in ink on a small paper slip, probably cut from a notebook.  Oblong format rounded corners, 3 x 4.75 inches (7.5 x 12.3 cm).  Name identification in an unknown hand, else in very good condition.

Schnabel remains legendary especially as an interpreter of Beethoven and Schubert. He was the first pianist to record all of Beethoven's piano sonatas, and he championed Schubert's sonatas at a time when they were hardly performed at all.
