Inscription, "For Matthew. 22.5.36," in an unknown hand to verso. 6.25 x 4.25 inches (16.2 x 11 cm). Upper margin somewhat trimmed; somewhat foxed; in very good condition overall.
One of the leading violinists of his generation, Joachim made Berlin his home from 1865 to his death. There he taught at the Musical Academy in addition to his demanding schedule as a performer.
