Caruso, Enrico. (1873-1921) [Mishkin, Herman. (1871 - 1948)]. Original Mishkin Studio Photograph Selection Sheet with 32 Photographs. A most unusual original Mishkin of New York sepia photograph of the great tenor depicted in 32 separate images, including 16 portrait poses, 13 in the role of Dick Johnson which he created in Puccini's 1910 Fanciulla del West, and further images in Andrea Chenier, Aida and Rigoletto. The portraits are numbered sequentially within the negatives and the verso is amusingly inscribed in an unknown period hand "Just a few photos of Mr. Enrico Caruso Tenor Metropolitan Opera Co. NY." Verso toned, a few areas of silvering and creasing, overall in fine condition and very striking.
The photograph would have been prepared by the studio for use in ordering specific prints of the performer.
