An unusual original Erlanger photograph of the Italian conductor and the great dramatic soprano, who has inscribed to the verso "For Mr. Essick, Reading PA." Toscanini and Gianini are shown in their customary elegant attire standing outside the Hotel Europe in Salzburg, probably in 1935 around the time of their historic Salzburg Falstaff. Some mounting traces to the verso, overall in fine condition. 3.5 x 5.75 inches (9 x 14.5 cm.).
