Elisabeth de Gramont (1875-1954) was the librettist of Ida Rubinstein's ballet Diane de Poitiers, then a work in progress, while Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) composed the music. The ballet had its first performance at the Paris Opéra on April 30, 1934. The writer André Gide (1869-1951) was a longtime friend of Rubinstein.
