Three-measure AMQS penned by the French-born conductor, who dates it January, 1932. On a small card, in very fine condition. Measures 4.5 x 3 inches (11x 7 cm).
The quotation is from the Entr'acte No. 3 in Bb major (Andantino) from Schubert's incidental music to the play Rosamunde. The theme was used again in the Impromptu in Bb, Op. 142 (D 935), No. 3 and an almost identical theme appears in the second movement of his String Quartet in A minor, D 804,[2] which is hence nicknamed the "Rosamunde" Quartet.
