Rosenstock was an extremely competent versatile conductor at the Met starting in 1929 then again the 1960s after a fruitful stint as pre Rudel head of the New York City Opera. He led the Judisches Kulturbund Orchestra in Berlin 1933-36 before settling in Japan where he remained first as conductor then as enemy alien till 1946.
