Sarasate, Pablo de. (1844–1908). 1883 Concert Program performing Carmen Fantasy and the Beethoven Concerto.

Concert program from an April 9, 1883 performance of the great Spanish violinist at London St. James's Hall, with the Orchestra of the Philharmonic Society under the baton of W.G. Cusins. Sarasate performed the Beethoven Violin Concerto, as well as his own Carmen Fantasy and Spanish Dances, and a Nocturne by Chopin.  Small tear and some foxing spots along lower edge, else fine. 2 pp. 5.25 x 75 inches; 13 x 20 cm. 

One of Sarasate's best-known works, the Carmen Fantasy, Op. 25, is a fantasy on themes from Bizet's Carmen for violin and piano or orchestra, composed in 1881.
